Wednesday Workout: Insomnia & Halloween Edition

So I think I'll use the Wednesday Workout theme of my blog to post accountability updates, as well as reviews.

(*edited to add sorry I forgot to hit publish yesterday, Wednesday, so this is going up Thursday. But then, I've been a day late all week, so there ya go.)

As far as accountability this past week...

Thursday and Friday I didn't workout at all. After my insomnia episode Monday night I was just trying to function in general day to day activities. I wasn't pushing myself to get my workouts in.

Saturday I got up and decided to try something new so I did PiYo from Beachbody On Demand. I skipped the "fundamentals" workout because I'd watched it years ago but never actually did any of the workouts. I probably should've re-watched it though because I forgot a lot of what the trainer said. But it worked out ok - I was able to figure it out pretty quickly and keep up with the workouts no problem.

I did Define Lower Body and Define Upper Body. Those two workouts are only about 20 minutes each. When I finished the first I was like, well, I could do more... so I did the next one too.

Sunday we were crazy busy and so I didn't get a workout in at all.

Monday morning I was up with the 5 AM club and did PiYo Sweat. Appropriately named workout - because I was sweating all over the place! My max heart rate was 177 at one point! I thought it was a good workout, and between the two define workouts and the sweat workout I was definitely sore for a few days afterwards.

Then my week got really busy. Last weekend I never got around to doing all of my laundry and this week has been crazy so I'm out of workout gear to wear! And I haven't had a second to do any laundry for the last two days! So no workouts Tuesday or today. And tonight is Halloween so I will be out trick or treating and not home doing laundry! But, I should be able to do some laundry tomorrow and hopefully work out Friday.

So far, I do like PiYo. I think will stick with it for at least the first month's calendar. But then, you know me, it took me three months to do an 8 week program lol. Chances are it will take me more than a month to do the first month of PiYo.

But I have been feeling very tight and less flexible lately and I think these will be good for me to loosen up and stretch out again.

That's all for Workout Wednesday this week. I hope to check in with better consistency next week and to continue PiYo for the time being. See you Friday for my Friday Focus post!
