Monday Weigh-In/Weekend Confessional: Insomnia Strikes Edition

Well yes this post is a day late, but that's ok. I'm apparently an intermittent blogger these days anyway, so ... deal with it lol.

Let's get down to business here...

Last week: 133.3
This week: 132.9
Difference: - 0.4

Maintenance: Somehow a success. I'll take it.

Long story short, insomnia fucked me up this week.

Monday night I couldn't sleep. I woke up at 1:30 am and that was it.

Tuesday night was not much better. Woke up at 2:30, decided to go sleep by myself on the couch (maybe a change of scenery would help?) and finally fell back to sleep sometime around 4 am probably.

Wednesday and Thursday I finally got some decent sleep but the damage was done. I couldn't recover and spent the week pretty much in fog of exhaustion. And I let that exhaustion give me permission to make crappy food choices all week. I can't count how many Starbucks lattes and pastries I had. Well, I tried to. By Saturday night I was -99 for the week (including weekly and fitpoints - not that I was earning them anyway in my state of perpetual tiredness). Sunday we spent the day at a friends house and I didn't even bother tracking. I just gave up on it. And we get "wins" for tracking now days too. I was willing to lose those wins, that's just how much I didn't care.

But, that was then and this is now. And the fact the the scale was down nearly half a pound is a freaking miracle.

Yesterday I decided to play around with my points settings a bit. In maintenance mode you can change how many daily and weekly points you get, so I lowered my daily points and upped my weekly points. It still works out to be the same number of points in a week, I'm just curious to see if allocating them differently plays a different mind game and helps me be more successful. Especially coming off a really crappy week.

Yesterday I also got up early to workout -but then I realized I'd never done the load of laundry with all my workout clothes in it so I couldn't work out today. My goal this evening is to get that done. But it's a busy evening so we'll see.

Tomorrow is Halloween and of course there will be candy (hello my beautiful weekly points, come here and help a girl out!) but I'm feeling pretty in control so I'm not currently worried. And if I succumb, so be it. It's just one day.

Next post will be Wednesday workouts where I will check in with what I've been doing along with some of the data.

And Friday I hope to post as well and talk about some mental things going on with my journey this past month or so.

But as an intermittent blogger I make no guarantees lol.
