Ah, the Weekend...

Between the busy weekend and the TOM this week, I am up about 2 lbs.

Ugh.

So much for my 135 barrier...

On the plus side, I know I beat it before, so I know it's just a matter of time.

Time and WAY better discipline than I had this past weekend.  Ugh - late night fast food, take out for dinner, alcohol.  Gee, when I say it like that, it's no wonder I gained.

But today is a new day, so I got right back on track.  Started by waking up to workout w/ Slim w/o the Gym.  This one starts w/ a jump rope segment, but I can't really use the rope b/c it's loud inside on my hard wood floors and it would wake up DH, so I just hopped in place and held the handles (so that I got the added benefit of their being weighted).  My calves were screaming by the end of it! And it's only 10 minutes.  The rest is made up of 10 min lower body, upper body and abs segments.  All in all, this workout is okay.  I think the jump rope part is fun, but then I feel like it slows down too much and you don't burn as many calories in the end.

Healthy bfast of oatmeal and low fat granola.  Not so healthy lunch (PB&J on white bread) but I didn't go food shopping yesterday (I was too hung over from Saturday night) so that was all I had in the fridge.  But still, I love a good PB&J.  Something comforting about it :o)

Five points left for dinner - going food shopping to cook though.  This way I'm not tempted by the take out again! Have to run a few errands after work and then finish the laundry when I get home.

Busy, busy, busy...

But that's good. Less time to think about food and snacks.

So, even though I went overboard this weekend, I did have a great time spending Sat. night out w/ DH.  We drove into the city and hit a neighborhood we usually over look and found a few great new bars to hang out in.  Missed seeing my sister by about an hour or so.  She was hangin in the same neighborhood as we were w/ her friends.  At the end of the night we went to an old favorite - Bull McCabes's on St. Marks.  They have an outdoor patio and Sat. was perfect weather.

No regrets - well - maybe the late night McDonald's stop.  Though I did have a kids meal to keep the portions small, I would've been better off w/ a slice of pizza from across the street.  But what's done is done.

I think my problem is that I'm all too willing to let my enjoyment of an evening override my desire to lose this damn weight.  I sacrifice discipline for indulgence and it's kicking my ass.

Next week I'll be vacationing in my favorite spot (Disney!) and I know that I'll gain because the food is too good! Plus we are buying the dining plan w/ comes with meals and desserts - too much food -but hey we're on vacation!  I know a lot of people think that by walking around so much you will burn enough calories, but I know from experience that's not the case.

So that's it for now.  I'll continue to check in this week before I leave.  I am hopeful that I will be able to drop a couple of pounds before I leave to make up for the few I know I'm going to gain!

Until next time...

It's true that we walk a LOT, but I know from experience (we visit Disney 2-3 times a year) that I always come home w/ a 3-5 lb gain.

But this time I'm wearing my pedometer so it will be interesting to see just how much walking we actually do!
