Monday Weigh In/Weekend Confessional: St. Paddy's Day Edition

Good Monday Morning!

Let's start with the stats:

Last week: 135.1
This week: 134. 4
Difference: - 0.7
Maintenance: Success!

Well, really I've been trying to get back down to around 130 - so it's also a successful loss this week. Two ways to look at the positive!

Lately I've been having a hard time staying focused on my goal of healthy eating and exercise. I've been going way over my points and skipping workouts intermittently.

I've been using the excuse of "balance" as an excuse to over indulge or sleep in.

But the truth is I'm starting to shift out of balance toward the side of unhealthy habits.

As exhibit A, I present my weekend confessions:

Bless me Jean Nidetch for I have gone off program!

Friday morning began with my skipping my workout. No real excuse. I told myself I was too tired, but in reality I was up, awake, and looking at my phone instead of getting out of bed, getting dressed and pressing play. The day started normally as I ate my usual breakfast and lunch, but went downhill after my WW workshop. I ate the snack bar they gave out. And that sent me on a snack attack. I ate the healthy dinner I'd planned, but I also ate my daughter's goldfish, her unfinished ice cream sandwich, some pita chips, and some halo top ice cream ending the day with 47 points.

Saturday was no better. Once again I skipped my workout using chores and busy schedule as the excuse (hey, laundry and vacuuming is exercise right?). Knowing I had a big dinner planned you'd think I'd have also planned some low point meals/snacks for the day - but no. I had a muffin for breakfast, a bagel (a real NY bagel - none of those lenders things they call bagels) with cream cheese and scrambled eggs for lunch, and then the snack attack came back and I ate gold fish, popcorn, another ice cream sandwich, and an RXBar ending the day with 62 points.

Sunday we were supposed to be home all day so I had planned my day out. Breakfast was oatmeal. But then for lunch I was making my daughter mac and cheese and I really wanted some so I ate that.  For a snack I had another muffin. And then some friends called for last minute plans so we went out to the vineyard. Then we invited them back to our place for Indian take-out. So yeah, there was all the wine and all the Indian food and I tracked it all as best as I could and ended the day at 79 points.

I am currently -75 in my weeklies.

Now is the time to reaffirm my goals and remind myself that just because I threw the weekend under the bus doesn't mean I need to throw in the towel for the rest of the week.

I have my meals and snacks pre-tracked and planned for today and my goal is to stick to my plan. No matter how hard it is.

I can do hard things.
