First week of the New Year...

So one week of 2011 is over - well, one full week Sunday through Sunday.  I guess I didn't count Saturday the 1st because I was jet-lagged, and exhausted and not really following any sort of plan to get my eating back on track and lose my vacation weight.

Okay - the numbers:
Sunday 1/2/2011: 131.6
Sunday 1/9/2011: 127.6

Three pounds this week! Whoo-hoo!!!

I just want to start by saying that I freakin' LOVE LOVE LOVE Weight Watchers!

This plan is so livable and flexible - it just goes to show that you CAN live your life robustly, with pleasure, and still be healthy and still reach your goals.

Last night I made a Weight Watchers recipe - Baked Ziti.  It was delicious! Just as good as the full fat version you might get at an Italian restaurant.

I also had some bread with butter and sea salt (my favorite go-to appetizer of all.  Yes, I know, butter! yikes! But, you spread it so thin that by the end of the night you've only had about a tablespoon. Moderation! Yay!)

We also shared a bottle of wine.  Now, when the new PointPlus was revealed, a lot of people were commenting on how high wine had become in points.  And I won't lie to you - half the bottle was 10 PointsPlus values!

But I'd had plenty of weekly PointsPlus left!  (Oh, and BTW I still have 12 weekly left AND all my activity points!)

And clearly I had a VERY successful week!

Ok, so off of food and onto fitness!

This week I *finally* took my FIRM Express out of the box and gave the system a whirl.  I followed their four day kick start plan which included two workouts per day over four days.

The plan called for an AM and a PM workout, but I know myself and my body.  By the time afternoon rolls around, I do NOT have the energy to workout so I did both in the mornings.

One snag in the plan occurred, however.  By day two I was so sore I couldn't feel my legs! These DVD's really work!  I was sore in my legs, glutes, chest and arms - places I haven't been sore in for a long, long time!  So day three I took a rest day, and then went right back to it!

So I got in four days of exercise last week.  Not bad considering I'd taken three weeks off in December due to my sore knee, then a sore shoulder, then being away on vacation.

This week I'm going to aim for six days.  Starting with today :)

I have to post that on FB though so I can be held accountable! LOL!

So that's my first week of 2011 in a nut shell.  I look forward to being back to my bikini bod soon enough!
