Ok folks,
It's been MONTHS since I've blogged about my weight maintenance journey - which due to a terrible year last year is now back to being a weight LOSS journey. But ...
I'm still showing up for myself most of the time, so it's all good!
Let's get to the meat and potatoes:
Last week: 138.0
This week: 137.7
Difference: -0.3
Well, down is down! I'll take it!
So last year I started the year at my goal weight of 124. And by May I'd let it creep back up close to about 130. At the beginning of May I got really focused and got back down to 127, just three pounds shy of goal, and then Memorial Day threw me off and I let it spiral out of control after that. I finished the year at 138. 14 pounds over goal. Ugh.
I drank a lot and ate a lot and exercised, well, not a lot. I've no one to blame but myself.
I rejoined weight watchers back at the beginning of December - I knew they had a new program launching and I knew that if I waited till after the holidays it would be much, much worse. I am happy to say that I did pretty much maintain for the month of December.
I started January fresh. Worked out five days last week following my newest workout obsession from Beach Body - A Little Obsessed. I'll try to get to this on Wednesday for a Wednesday Work-out post.
My eating for Mon and Tue was spot on, but Thursday and Friday were snow days.
And that brings me to my weekend (which started on a weekday) confession:
Bless Me Jean Nidetch for I have gone off program!
Knowing I had a snow day on Thursday, hubby and I opened and finished a bottle of wine on Wednesday. We also shared some buttered bread, veggies and hummus, and some cheese. Friday once they got the roads cleared we grabbed a couple of pizzas and went over to a friends house where we devoured the pizza, some cookies and a ton more wine. Saturday was an all day gaming and snack fest with, you guessed it, more wine. And Sunday I did pretty good during the day but by the evening I was feeling kind of defeated and since I knew my points were going to reset Monday I decided to eat an unplanned cookie out of the freezer left over from Christmas. I have got to throw those away.
So considering I spent three of seven days totally off program, a 0.3 loss isn't too bad.
What I'm walking away with this week is the knowledge that I have got to have a better strategy.
I'm not sure what the plan will be going forward - I'm thinking bringing one of my tracking wine glasses with me when we go out to friends so I'm not so tempted to drink as much if I'm tracking. And bringing more veggies for snacking at our all day game/snack fests.
This week is a new week. I'm still tracking and planning and I'm still working out. I'm going back to my meeting this Friday (finally!) and I'm looking forward to making some progress.
I know what I have to do, now I need to hold myself accountable and do it. I also need to tell my friends what I'm up to and ask for their support. They're awesome people, so I know they'll have my back.
Here's hoping for a great week - hope to see you Wednesday for another blog. Until then...
