Injured

So I haven't worked out since Monday.  I am starting to feel like a slug!

I'm not even sure how I hurt myself but I totally pulled my trapezius muscle on my left side.

I did do some heavy upper body work Monday morning - but nothing more intense than usual.  Plus, I didn't feel anything pull when I was working out.  Or even after the work out when I was cleaning up.  But by the time I stepped into the shower, my neck was killing me.

All day Monday I could barely move.  It's been getting better, but it's still pretty sore.  I haven't wanted to aggravate it so I haven't worked out.

But I'm starting to feel the effects that being sedentary is having on my body.  I definitely don't have as much energy.  Plus, I have gained a little weight this week - I'm not burning calories like I should.  Although that could also be a TOM thing...

Well, either way I am getting back on the wagon on Sunday.  I'm going to focus strong on lower body - and maybe even do the upper body work sans dumbbells.  Ha! Just like I'm a beginner again!

In the meantime, I am going to see if I can get a massage this weekend.  I've been putting herbal massage gel on it and I think that's been helping.  I forgot to put some on this morning though so I am feeling a little more sore today than yesterday.  I might put some heat on it as well.

I hate when injuries happen.  I know it will be fine in the long run - I know this has happened before - but I still worry.

Not too long ago I was making a lot of excuses and I pretty much stopped exercise all together for a while.

I just hope that's not what I do again.

I don't think so though... I don't feel like that.   I feel the opposite actually.  I feel like I miss it and I'd really like to get back on the wagon as soon as I can! I hate feeling like a slug!

So that's the workout update...

On to food -

Been having great breakfasts!  In the morning I'm always on track!  I have yogurt, oatmeal, healthy cereals, fresh fruit, protein... awesome!

Lunch is usually leftovers.  Sadly leftover are sometimes big dinners.  For example, I made Mac and Cheese last week.  But that's a huge meal with huge calories.  So now I have about 5 points for dinner later...

Maybe I'll just have a veggie burger.  I am on my own for food later... Or maybe some take out...  I'll see.

So that's everything for now.  The journey continues...
