It's frickin August already! Where is my summer going? Ahhhh!
So, had a busy weekend, splurged once, on track the rest of the time though.
Friday night we went out to dinner with some friends to a very nice restaurant. I ordered the chef's tasting five course menu (hey, I like variety!). Usually when you order something like that, the portions are very small, but not at this restaurant! And, everything was so delish I ate every plate clean! Plus, a glass of wine and two martinis! Eep!
Saturday we did not go to the beach (yea, that broke my heart a little) because my DH's cousins were in town from Fla. So we met them at Dave and Busters for lunch. I had a salad w/ grilled chicken and raspberry vinagrette. I looked up the NI online - hard to find, but I finally found the PDF menu for the location in Times Sq. NYC (NYC has a law that all chain restaurants MUST post the calorie info on their menu). They don't list anything other than calories, but I picked the menu item that sounded the best tasting and that had the fewest calories. The menu said 380, but I think that might be too low...
But anyway - not being at the beach led to less drinking so I think that's what helped me stay on track for the rest of the weekend. And as of Monday morning I weigh (roughly) the same as I did Thursday morning.
Food the next couple of days is going to be limited because we are leaving for a week's vaca on Wednesday - so I didn't want to buy too many perishable things and waste money. So this week is going to be an exercise in how can I use up all my perishable food in two days! LOL
Then, we are off to Disney! Whoo hoo! Looking forward to escaping reality for bit! And, looking forward to getting some serious daily steps on my pedometer! All summer I've been lounging about and reading a lot so my daily steps have been only between 3K - 4K on average. Yesterday was crazy low - less than 2K steps! Last time I was in Disney, I walked, on average 24K steps a day (around 12 miles!) so that'll be great!
Food for today: Breakfast was greek yogurt w/ Kashi and raspberries. Lunch will be leftover pork chop (gotta use up that food!). Dinner - I'll have to throw something together :)
Workout today - 500 calorie workout (love this one).
And that's that! So, till tomorrow....
